Gregoritsch: “I love every player in this team”

First Team 13.09.2018, 23:39
Ahead of Saturday’s match in Mainz (15:30 CEST), several FCA players are returning from international duty. Among them is Michael Gregoritsch, who spoke about how happy he is in Augsburg in Thursday’s press conference. “FCA is my club and I really enjoy being here. All the players and coaches have complete faith in me. I love every player in this team and I'm very happy to be a part of it,” said Gregoritisch. The Austrian has just returned from international duty, where he started in a 2-0 friendly win over Sweden and a narrow 1-0 loss to Bosnia & Herzegovina in the UEFA Nations League. Now, the attacker is back in Augsburg and looks forward to returning to Bundesliga action. “I’m back and fully focused on Mainz. Of course it would've been nicer to have won in Bosnia with Austria, but that’s how things go. I’m looking forward to returning to Bundesliga action. Mainz will be strong opponents who we cannot underestimate.” FCA coach Manuel Baum also believes Mainz will be challenging opponents. “Mainz are tactically flexible and physically strong. Our approach to the game will have to be flexible to ensure we can will the ball and play our game.” Nevertheless, FCA can go into this away match with optimism having recorded four points from their opening two matches of the season. “We’re very pleased with our start to the season but we have to always be hungry and constantly developing.” Baum will have to continue his preparations for the Mainz match without the injured Alfred Finnbogason, who has been ruled out of the match. “Alfred will continue with individual training but we will have to wait a bit longer before he returns to team training.” Fredrik Jensen, Julian Schieber and Kilian Jakob will also miss the match through injury alongside Finnbogason. Caiuby and Jan Moravek are fit again having trained individually this week.
