Finn Dahmen named in VDV Team of the Season

The members of the Vereinigung der Vertragsfußballspieler (German professional footballer’s union) vote for the best players at the end of every Bundesliga season. FC Augsburg’s Finn Dahmen has been named in the VDV’s Team of the Season for 2024/25.
The highlight of Dahmen’s campaign was his run of 683 minutes without conceding. The 27-year-old not only set a new club record for FCA but also put himself among the top 10 longest runs without conceding in Bundesliga history.
Dahmen received 28.3% of the vote from his fellow players to be named as the Bundesliga’s best goalkeeper over the past season. This marks the first time since 2017/18 that an FC Augsburg player has made the VDV Team of the Season – left-back Philipp Max made it on that occasion.
Active players from Germany’s top four divisions as well as other members of the VDV are allowed to vote. Florian Wirtz won the Player of the Season award for the second successive campaign. VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade was named the Newcomer of the Season, while Mainz’s Bo Henriksen won the Coach of the Season accolade.
