Free transfer from SC Paderborn

First Team 29.05.2026, 12:10

FC Augsburg have signed centre-back Calvin Brackelmann ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 26-year-old joins on a free transfer from newly-promoted side SC Paderborn and has put pen to paper on a long-term deal until 30th June 2030.

Brackelmann featured in 63 competitive games for SCP, scoring five goals in the process. Standing 1.93-metres tall, Brackelmann primarily played as the left-back in a back-three last season. He featured in both of SCP’s relegation play-off matches against VfL Wolfsburg, contributing an assist in the second leg.

“We’re delighted that Calvin Brackelmann has chosen to join FC Augsburg. His pace, height and power provide us with additional options on the pitch and he’s a great fit for our overall philosophy at FCA,” said sporting director Benni Weber.

“During our initial meetings I already knew that FC Augsburg would be the perfect fit for me,” said Brackelmann. “I had a good feeling right from the start and would like to take the next step here at FCA. I’m already looking forward to next season and now want to settle in quickly in order to help the team with strong performances on the pitch.”
