FCA reach agreement with RC Lens for the transfer of Kevin Danso

Danso to leave FCA

FC Augsburg have reached an agreement with French first-division side RC Lens concerning the transfer of defender Kevin Danso. The 22-year-old's contract with FCA was set to run until summer 2024.

"We stated many times that we hold Kevin Danso in high esteem as a player. He made the move from our academy to the first-team set up, and made his Bundesliga debut at age 18 for FCA. He has undergone a tremendous development of late and we would have counted on him in the Bundesliga this season. It's too bad that he was of a different opinion, and that he no longer wishes to play for FCA," said FCA sporting director Stefan Reuter.

"Over the course of training camp, we documented how we perceived that this transfer was being pushed through. Due to this behaviour, it was clear to us that we would only agree to it if certain conditions were met. After several discussions, this is now the case, which is why we have agreed to the transfer," said Reuter.
