FCA players celebrate international success

On Tuesday, whilst the rest of the Augsburg squad were training in preparation for the upcoming fixture away in Mainz, six players were off on international duty, playing in the Nations League or in international friendlies. Bosnia-Herzegovina 1-0 Austria Martin Hinteregger and Michael Gregoritsch were in action for Austria during their Nations League fixture away to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Both FCA players featured in the Starting XI. In the first half, the Bosnian crowd made their voices heard and cheered on their side. The Austrian team were guilty of several small errors that gave the Bosnians several goods chances. At half time, team Austria coach Franco Foda swapped Michael Gregoritsch for Marko Arnautovic. It looked as if the Austrians were going to leave with a point; however, Edin Dzeko got the winner for Bosnia-Herzegovina with 20 minutes to play. The loss puts Austria bottom of Group 3 in League B. On Friday 12th October (kick off 20.45 CEST), Austria will face Northern Ireland. Gibraltar U21s 0-5 Austria U21s The Austrian U21s side took a step closer to qualification for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship when they overcame Gibraltar U21s 5-0. Coach Werner Gregoritsch’s side now sit in second place in their qualification group. Kevin Danso featured for the full 90 minutes. Ireland U21s 0-6 Germany U21s Marco Richter and the Germany U21s increased their lead at the top of their Euros qualification group when they beat Ireland 6-0 in Dublin. Richter started the game, but then was subbed off for Aarin Seydel after 54 minutes. The young FCA player very nearly bagged a goal when his shot went sailing just over the crossbar. The win increases Germany’s lead over Ireland at the top of the group. Friday 12th October will see the German U21s take on Norway U21s in Ingolstadt (kick off 20.00 CEST). South Korea 0-0 Chile South Korea welcomed Chile to the World Cup Stadium in Seoul for a game that ended in a goalless draw. Don-Wong Ji featured for the Teaguk Warriors after being subbed on with half-an-hour to play. Panama 0-2 Venezuela Sergio Córdova was subbed on for Rómulo Otero after 75 minutes during his side’s 2-0 win over Panama.
