FCA to face Villarreal CF in friendly
Following the 6-0 win over FC Gundelfingen and the tournament in Heimstetten, where Augsburg picked up a pair of 1-0 victories over SpVgg Greuther Fürth and Borussia Mönchengladbach, the club have added another game to their pre-season schedule.
During the training camp from Sunday 21st July to Sunday 28th July in Tirol, FCA will play against Spanish first-division side, Villarreal CF. The game will take place on Friday 26th July at Stadion in Schwaz with a 18:00 CEST kick-off.
The friendly will take place just over a week ahead of the family-fest on Saturday 3rd August (15:30 CEST) in the WWK-ARENA, where the club will play Italian first-division side FC Bologna, the former club of FCA legend, Helmut Haller. The first competitive match of the season will then be the DFB-Pokal on Saturday 10th August (15:30 CEST) against Regionalliga side, SC Verl.
FCA’s Bundesliga season will start a week later on Saturday 17th August (15:30 CEST) away against Borussia Dortmund. A week later sees FCA play their first home game of the new campaign, as newly-promoted Union Berlin visit the WWK-ARENA (Saturday 24th August, kick off 15:30 CEST).
