With four matchdays still to play in the Bundesliga this season, FC Augsburg are looking to pick up enough points to ensure safety for a tenth successive season. FCA have already met all the economic criteria to remain in the league.

The German Football League (DFL) has granted FC Augsburg a license for the upcoming 2021/22 Bundesliga season, without any economic conditions attached. The club were informed about the decision in recent days.

“Despite the challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic, we have met the economic criteria required to allow us to compete in the Bundesliga next season. Despite recording a loss in revenue of €35 million due to the pandemic, we still have the economic stability needed to weather this crisis due to the sound economic thinking applied in recent years. We will continue to do everything in our power to ensure that we achieve this, without state help. We are taking this positive news as proof that we continue to be on the right path here,” said Michael Ströll, the CEO of FC Augsburg.
