FCA and Football Aid host Charity Match for FCA Fans

Fans 20.02.2020, 16:23

FCA fans who have always dreamed of playing on the famous WWK-ARENA pitch can now have those dreams realised. On Saturday May 23rd, FCA and Football Aid will host a charity match for which fans will have the chance to bid on a ticket to play on the pitch. Proceeds from the match will go to charitable causes.

Fans who successfully bid on the chance to take part will not only receive an FCA jersey with their name on the back, and get to sit in the dressing room, but will also be able to come out of the tunnel and compete against each other on the pitch for 90 minutes. Finally, they will also take home once-in-a-lifetime photos of the action on the WWK-ARENA pitch as well as a video recording of the special experience.

“We chose to team up with Football Aid because we wanted to expand our social engagement and also give the fans the chance to be a part of this special experience. Besides, apart from our games with the first team in the Bundesliga, we don’t use the pitch for anything else. It’s the first chance for our fans to play in a match at the WWK-Arena while also doing something good for charity,” said FCA CEO Michael Ströll.

“We’ve been grateful for the enthusiasm FCA have shown ever since we first spoke to them about our idea,” explained David Dale, the chairman of Football Aid. “We are all happy about this upcoming magic moment for the fans. We’re also very happy that we can support this charity project too.”

Football Aid has already helped give 18,500 fans from around the world the chance to live their dreams and wear their club colours with pride. Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid are among the teams that the Scottish foundation has worked with. FC Augsburg is the first club in Germany to have organised a charity match with Football Aid.
