FC Augsburg have signed former loanee Reece Oxford on a permanent deal from Premier League side West Ham United. The English defender joined FCA on loan for the second half of the 2018/19 season and has now signed a permanent contract with the Fuggerstädter until 2023. Both FC Augsburg and West Ham United have agreed an undisclosed fee for the transfer. “I’m delighted to have joined Augsburg on a permanent basis. I felt very comfortable in the city during my loan spell last season and would like to step the next step in my development here in the Bundesliga,” said Reece Oxford. “We’re delighted that we have been able to sign Reece permanently. Reece already knows the club values and what the club stands for. We are convinced he will help us to progress over the course of the next few years,” said FCA sporting director Stefan Reuter. The 20 year-old made eight Bundesliga appearances and one DFB-Pokal appearance for FC Augsburg during his loan spell in the 2018/19 season.
