Augsburg players recharging their batteries

First Team 07.01.2019, 22:06
The FCA players have been looking forward to this afternoon for days. On the fourth day of the training camp in Spain, coach Manuel Baum ordered his team have a ‘regeneration’. After intensive training sessions during the training camp in Algorfa, near Alicante, it’s time for the boys to “recharge their batteries” for the tasks ahead. “It was good to have very effective training sessions,” said Baum. “And with just over two weeks to go until the second half of the season starts, we have to be mindful and pace ourselves.” On Saturday 19th January (15:30) in the home game against Fortuna Düsseldorf, all players likely to play should be fit again and get the second half of the season off to a successful start. Max still not involved in the training camp After Alfred Finnbogason took part in training again, Philipp Max now has to sit out. The left-back is out due to a stomach bug and has, as of yet, not travelled to Spain. His condition has not improved to the point where he could be involved on Monday. It is not known when or whether Max will travel to Spain. Manuel Baum has other players at his disposal. Daniel Baier, Rani Khedira and Kosta Stafylidis, among others, have all completed a reduced running program in the morning. At the same time, running, shooting and various technical exercises were completed by the team in different groups. “We work on many little things individually, so that we are well prepared as a team after training,” explains Baum.
