DFB-Pokal first round draw to take place on Saturday

FC Augsburg will discover their first opponents of the 2019/20 season this Saturday. The DFB-Pokal first round draw will take place in the German football museum in Dortmund as the Fuggerstädter prepare to begin another cup adventure. 2003 Women’s World Cup winner Nia Künzer will conduct the draw while DFB vice president Peter Frymuth will oversee proceedings. The 64 first round teams will be divided into two different groups. FC Augsburg will be in the first group alongside the other 17 Bundesliga teams as well as the highest ranked 14 Bundesliga 2 teams from the 2018/19 season. In the DFB-Pokal first round, FCA could face the four remaining Bundesliga 2 teams, including the trio relegated to the third tier, as well as the 3. Liga and amateur teams who have qualified for the first round. These teams will be in the second group for the draw and will have home advantage for the ties in August. The DFB-Pokal first round draw will begin at 18:00 CEST on Saturday and fixtures will take place from 9th-12th August 2019.
