Merry Christmas from FC Augsburg

It's Christmas! Of course, that also means that 2019 is drawing to a close, so we wanted to take the opportunity to take a look back at an eventful year, during which our team kicked off their ninth consecutive season of Bundesliga football.
We secured our top-flight status for the eighth straight time this year, something that few could have predicted when we were first promoted to the Bundesliga in 2011. We began the 2019/20 season with a number of personnel changes, which didn't come without its difficulties. We also pushed a membership campaign in the summer break, which has helped bring 2,000 new club members to FCA since its initiation.
All in all, it's been an exciting development, brought about only through hard work and dedication from the team after what was a difficult start. Martin Schmidt's charges have not only played brilliant football, but they have also continued to pick up points, particularly in the second half of the Hinrunde.
Scoring goals has certainly been a more regular occurrence this season, with our dangerous attack playing a big role in many a three points. Our side has often left their opponents unable to deal with them, rather than us 'only' seeing out victories. This exciting football has undoubtedly given us and everyone associated with FC Augsburg a whole lot more Christmas spirit this year and we hope that it can continue into 2020.
