In just a few days, FC Augsburg will begin preparations for their ninth consecutive season in the Bundesliga. The players will regroup and start training this weekend following the summer break. Since securing promotion to the top flight in 2011, several players have scored for the Fuggerstädter – but who has scored the most goals? Here is an overview of the top ten FC Augsburg goalscorers in the Bundesliga. Dong-Won Ji, who is leaving the Fuggerstädter to join fellow Bundesliga side Mainz for next season, is currently tenth on the list. The South Korean attacker has scored 13 goals for the club, three fewer than André Hahn who is ninth on the list. Hahn scored 12 of his 16 FCA goals in the 2013/14 season. Promotion winning hero Sascha Mölders, who currently plays for TSV 1860 München, is our eighth highest goalscorer in the Bundesliga. Mölders scored both of our opening goals in the Bundesliga in 2011 and scored 18 top flight goals in total. Current FCA attacker Michael Gregoritsch is joint sixth on the list with 19 goals. The Austrian is joined on that tally by former Augsburg captain Paul Verhaegh, who scored 17 of his 19 FCA goals from the penalty spot. Halil Altintop is fifth on the list, scoring 20 goals during his time in Augsburg. Paraguayan striker Raúl Bobadilla sits just outside the top three on 21 goals. These goals include the memorable 89th minute third goal in Belgrade to set up Augsburg’s Europa League Last 32 clash with Liverpool. Bobadilla is pipped to third place by midfielder Ja-Cheol Koo, who has scored 22 goals for the club. Until this season, FCA legend Tobias Werner was the club’s all time record goalscorer in the Bundesliga as his 23 goals propelled the team to the Europa League in 2015. However, his record was broken by Alfred Finnbogason in the 2018/19 season. The Icelandic scored ten goals in that season alone to take his Augsburg total to 32. This number could continue to rise should Finnbogason find the back of the net next season.
