Baum: “We’re hungry for more”
Away game in Bremen
With Bundesliga survival already secured, FC Augsburg head to Werder Bremen on matchday 32 looking to finish the season strongly. FCA have three games left to play and can approach the run-in with confidence – while also setting themselves fresh targets for the final weeks.
Manuel Baum is looking forward to the challenges still to come: “We’ve still got three exciting games ahead of us.” Augsburg currently sit ninth on 37 points and are determined to hold on to their position in the top half of the table. The recent 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt underlined that FCA have no intention of easing off before the season is out. “We spent a lot of time afterwards discussing how we can get even better. That shows my team are still hungry for more,” explained Baum.
Werder Bremen, meanwhile, are still not mathematically safe, and Baum is expecting a committed, high-intensity performance from the hosts on Saturday afternoon. Baum knows Bremen “can be a real force at the Weserstadion” in particular. “It’s a challenge we have to be up for,” stated the FCA head coach.
Potential changes to the starting XI
FCA have almost a full squad available. Mads Pedersen was the only player recently dealing with a minor knee issue, meaning Baum has plenty of options and could make changes to his starting XI. The reverse fixture at the WWK ARENA ended 0-0.
Around 1,200 fans will travel to Bremen to support Baum’s side, with the supporters’ groups calling on everyone to wear red or green.
