Tomáš Koubek and the Czech Republic secured top spot in their Nations League group on Wednesday. Robert Gumny finished EUROs qualifying on Tuesday with a win.

Tomáš Koubek won the final Nations League game 2-0 against Slovakia with the Czech Republic to leapfrog Scotland and go top of the group. Tomas Soucek (17’) and Zdenek Ondrasek (55’) scored the goals for the Czechs. Koubek was introduced at half time and kept a clean sheet. The Czech Republic are therefore promoted to League A as group winners.

Michael Gregoritsch didn’t play in Austria’s 1-1 draw with Norway. The Austrians top their group and are also promoted to League A.

Robert Gumny and Poland U21s finished EUROs qualifying with a win on Tuesday. In the final game against Latvia, Poland won 3-1. The goals came from Wolfsburg’s Bartosz Bialek (48’), Jakub Piotr Kiwior (61’) and Patryk Klimala (71’), with Marko Regza scoring a late consolation for Latvia (89’). Gumny played the full 90 minutes. Poland’s qualification as one of the best group runners-up pends a ruling by the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body.

Felix Uduokhai didn’t play in Germany’s 6-0 defeat against Spain, whilst Ruben Vargas’ match with Switzerland against Ukraine was cancelled.
