FCA drawn away to Bochum in DFB-Pokal round of 16
Trip to 2. Bundesliga side
FC Augsburg now know who they will face in the DFB-Pokal round of 16, having been drawn away to 2. Bundesliga side VfL Bochum.
The draw took place on Sunday evening at the German Football Museum in Dortmund, with Markus Gaugisch, head coach of Germany’s women’s national handball team, drawing the ties.
“Of course, we would have preferred a home tie, but we’re looking forward to the cup game in Bochum. We also have some unfinished business with VfL after losing to them in the cup last season. We want to take this opportunity to reach the quarter-finals,” said FCA sporting director Benni Weber.
The round-of-16 ties will take place on 1st and 2nd December, with the exact dates and kick-off times yet to be confirmed.
The round-of-16 draw in full:
Eintracht Frankfurt – Borussia Dortmund
VfB Stuttgart – SG Dynamo Dresden
Bayer 04 Leverkusen – RB Leipzig
FC Bayern München – Hertha BSC
Borussia Mönchengladbach – SV Darmstadt 98
1. FC Kaiserslautern – SC Freiburg
Holstein Kiel – 1. FC Köln
VfL Bochum – FC Augsburg
