2025 in numbers: To Helsinki and back again
Half a million fans at the WWK ARENA
Statistics help bring a calendar year into focus – and from shots on goal to litres of beer consumed, 2025 produced plenty of memorable figures. On and off the pitch, FC Augsburg hit a number of milestones and generated plenty of eye-catching facts over the past year.
Crossing kings: In the current season, FCA have scored more goals from crosses than any other Bundesliga side (7). That return was built on a total of 440 crosses played by the Fuggerstädter in 2025. Augsburg were also active from set pieces, earning 146 corners over the course of the year.
Tough tacklers: Week after week, FCA’s players leave everything out on the pitch and never shy away from a challenge. The Fuggerstädter contested a total of 1,051 aerial duels, while on the ground they added another 1,665 tackles won.
Hard runners: The straight-line distance from the WWK ARENA to Helsinki is just under 2,000 kilometres. In 2025, FCA’s players would have comfortably made that journey – and back again. Over the course of the calendar year, the team covered an impressive total of 4,025.87 kilometres.
Accurate passers: Augsburg showed real composure in possession this year. A total of 13,980 passes highlights the team’s high level of involvement on the ball. Those combinations led to 397 shots on goal, meaning roughly every 35th pass resulted in an attempt.
Excellent support: FC Augsburg welcomed a total of 500,000 fans to the WWK ARENA in 2025. That’s more people than the entire populations of Malta, Brunei or Belize. Even the city of Augsburg itself, with 301,105 residents, would almost fill the stadium twice over across the year.
Favourite drink: The most popular refreshment among matchday visitors was, unsurprisingly, beer. Over the course of the year, fans consumed 172,648.5 litres inside the stadium – the equivalent of more than 767 traditional wooden barrels.
