Ruben Vargas suspended for two competitive games
Decision following red card against Werder
The DFB sports tribunal has issued a two-game first team suspension for Ruben Vargas, who was sent off in the 2-0 win over Werder Bremen for a minor assault against an opposition player in retaliation to a prior unsporting act committed against him.
The 22-year-old, who was shown his first ever red card at FCA on Saturday, will miss the final game of the season on Saturday, 22 May (15:30) away to German champions FC Bayern München. He will also be suspended for the first competitive game of next season, which will be a DFB-Pokal first round tie played between 6 and 9 August. The opponent for that game has not yet been determined.
