Phillip Tietz moves to 1. FSV Mainz 05
Attacker spent two and a half years at FCA

After two and a half years at the club, Phillip Tietz has left FC Augsburg to join 1. FSV Mainz 05 with immediate effect. Both clubs have opted not to disclose the exact terms of the deal.
The 28-year-old attacker moved to FCA from SV Darmstadt 98 in July 2023. Tietz played 85 games for Augsburg, scoring 17 goals in the process. This season, he made ten appearances in the Bundesliga, spending a total189 minutes on the pitch, and bagged one goal.
“After discussions with Phillip, who was looking for a new challenge, we’ve found a sensible solution for all parties with Mainz 05,” said FCA sporting director Benni Weber. “We would like to thank Phillip for his commitment to FCA over the past two and a half years and wish him all the best for the rest of his career.”
“It wasn’t an easy decision for me, since I had a great time in Augsburg. From a sporting perspective, though, it’s the right time for a new challenge. I’d like to thank the board for making this winter transfer possible, and I’ll always remember my time at FCA fondly,” explained Phillip Tietz.
