Jonathan Schmid: "I love life here"

First Team 15.03.2018, 10:30
On Saturday, Werder Bremen head to Augsburg and FCA's preparations are well underway. FCA's Jonathan Schmid looks back at the clash with Hannover 96 and his new position during the game. As the team trained together on the pitch, the Frenchman was training on the pitch. Due to a minor thigh issue, the 27-year-old took today's training session more lightly. Despite the knock, Jonathan is looking forward to Saturday's clash with Bremen. and is happy with his new position at the back. "In Freiburg, I often played at right back and am continuing my development as a defensive-minded player. Now, we're able to play with five across the back," said Schmid. At the start of the season, Schmid featured mainly in midfield but then he had a minor set-back. Now, he's back and feels at home in his new position on the pitch. "I'm happy in my new role as right-back. Before, I had opponents behind me whereas now I can see everything ahead of me. I'm loving life and giving everything for the team. We want to achieve our season's aims," added Schmid. Although FCA will be buoyed after the win in Hannover, Schmid is wary ahead of Bremen's trip to the WWK Arena. "It'll be a tough match against Werder Bremen. Bremen won their last game like we did and are in good form. We have to get three points in front of our own fans."
