Hahn: "A win would be like gold dust"

Andre Hahn made his first start since November in the away game against Union Berlin last week. Unfortunately, he was unable to help his team pick up a win, and FCA lost 2-0 in the capital. The forward told FCA Fan-TV that he wants the team to “have the fans behind us” against Werder Bremen on Saturday 1st February (15:30 CET), but this time, he wants the side to pick up points.

After their strong run of six games without a loss in the Hinrunde, FCA will go into Saturday’s game against Werder Bremen without any points from the Rückrunde so far. Augsburg had a largely good game against Borussia Dortmund, but were undone by a second half comeback. Against Union the team “did a lot right”, but didn’t “stick to the plan”, said Andre Hahn. He personally is trying to “put all his effort into helping the team,” after his first starting appearance in many weeks.

Good spirits come with the improved performance

Meanwhile Martin Schmidt’s side, “have coped well with the tough start”. Hahn believes that everyone can keep calm. “Whenever I see the boys, they’re in good spirits. Of course it’s not ideal that we’ve lost twice, but it’s the first step to getting out of this funk.”

In Bremen, Augsburg want to move further away from the bottom of the table, while their opponents lie in the relegation zone after 19 Matchdays. “Bremen should not be underestimated, because although they have an injury crisis at the moment they are still a top team,” Augsburg’s number 28 said about their opponent’s on Saturday. “It will be a so-called “six-pointer”, so a win would be like gold dust. We will give our all with the fans at our backs.”
