Following on from the signings of Finn Dahmen and Patric Pfeiffer, FCA are delighted to announce another newcomer for the upcoming season. Sven Michel has joined Augsburg from Champions League participants 1. FC Union Berlin.

The 32-year-old forward, who has made 63 appearances in the Bundesliga and 83 in the 2. Bundesliga, has joined the club on a deal until 30th June 2025. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose further information about the transfer.

“This transfer to FCA is the right move for me because I want to be out on the pitch more regularly and take on a leadership role as an experienced player. I was immediately up for the new challenge after the discussions with those in charge and I will do everything to ensure we are successful next season,” explained Sven Michel, who scored six goals last term, two of which came in the Europa League.

“Sven has shown, both during his time at Union Berlin and at SC Paderborn, that he is a committed, intelligent striker, that poses a threat in front of goal. In addition to his strengths on the field, he is also a popular character off it, who will help our younger players. That’s why we’re delighted that the transfer has worked out,” explained Stefan Reuter.
