FC Augsburg have secured the signature of one of the most in-demand players in the 2. Bundesliga. SV Elversberg captain Robin Fellhauer has joined the Fuggerstädter. The 27-year-old midfielder, who can also play as a centre-back or on the right side of defence, has put pen to paper on a contract until 30th June 2029. The two clubs have agreed not to disclose any further details of the transfer.

Fellhauer came through the academies of both 1. FC Saarbrücken and SC Freiburg, and also featured multiple times for Germany’s youth sides. Last season, the Mannheim-born man caught the eye with his consistently strong performances. Fellhauer scored seven times and provided four assists from defensive midfield in 28 competitive matches. The 27-year-old also scored an equaliser in the promotion/relegation play-off against 1. FC Heidenheim, as Elversberg just narrowly missed out on a place in the Bundesliga.

One of the best players in last season’s 2. Bundesliga

“Robin fits our profile perfectly. He’s hard-working and strong in the challenge. He’s flexible and also brings quality going forward. We’re very pleased that FC Augsburg have been able to sign one of the best players in last season’s 2. Bundesliga,” said FCA’s CEO Michael Ströll.

“My number one aim has always been to play in the Bundesliga. It’s huge for me to have been able to fulfil this dream by moving to FCA. The club were dead set on bringing me in. I’m looking forward to this new challenge at an established Bundesliga side, and I’ll give everything with my performances to help the team achieve success,” said Robin Fellhauer, who will wear the number 19 shirt at the club.
