Heidenheim were narrowly defeated in last season’s relegation play-off against SV Werder Bremen. While FCA have made a record-breaking start to the Bundesliga season with seven points from three games, the side from Baden-Württemberg have made a solid start to the season with a win, a draw and a loss, but were knocked out of the DFB-Pokal in the first round.
