Caiuby: “I always want to give everything for the team”

During the current international break, the focus for FC Augsburg is to continue working hard. However, the players not on international duty have had time to rest following a busy couple of weeks for the club. Following today’s training session, FCA attacker Caiuby spoke about the tasks at hand for the team in forthcoming weeks. After a small scare in Hoffenheim, when Caiuby had to be substituted due to a knee problem, the Brazilian has been given the all clear to return to training. “It was nothing serious. I feel really good now and am fully fit. I’m fully concentrated on playing football which is something I enjoy. I can dismiss everything else.” Caiuby also feels very happy in the FC Augsburg team: “I always want to give everything for the team, both on and off the pitch. I help wherever I can if there is something that needs doing.” The Brazilian also has plenty of praise for the FCA head coach: “Manuel Baum interacts with the players very well. We understand each other and share lots of information with each other.” However, the striker enjoys the atmosphere inside the WWK Arena most of all. “It is the best feeling to see the fans celebrate after we have scored. As a footballer, it is very special to see the emotions we can create for the fans.” Caiuby is also glad to have a lot of competition in attack and on the wing from Marco Richter, Andre Hahn, Fredrik Jensen, Julian Schieber and Sergio Córdova. “We have several good players in attack. This has changed a lot in recent years. It is also important for the coach to always have plenty of options to choose from. We can also positive respond after injuries too.”
