FC Augsburg youth product Jozo Stanić has left the club’s training camp in Walchsee, Tirol. The 22-year-old, who was loaned out to third-tier side FSV Zwickau last season, has extended his contract with Augsburg for an extra year until 2024 but will now go out on loan again. This season, the defender will play for SV Webern Wiesbaden in the 3. Liga.

“The season gone by in Zwickau did my development a lot of good because I was able to collect a lot of match practice. I want to continue that development with this new loan move so that I can then try and get my chance back in Augsburg. To that end I'm pleased to be able to extend my contract with my hometown club, and that I will be able to collect valuable experience in Wiesbaden,” said Stanić, who waved goodbye to his teammates in Walchsee on Monday.

“Jozo took a big step forward with the playing time in Zwickau. It is our shared goal for him to continue that development with another loan so that he can then realise his dream of running out for his hometown team in the Bundesliga,” said FCA sporting director Stefan Reuter.
