FCA tradition revived with new home jersey

Throwback to FCA's first kit after merger

FC Augsburg have come up with something unique for the club’s eleventh consecutive season in the Bundesliga and are going back to the roots with the 2021/22 home jersey design.

For home games at the WWK Arena in 2021/22, Markus Weinzierl’s men will be kitted up similarly to the old FCA boys from the 1969/70 Bayernliga season, who first presented the club’s new colours of red, green and white at the Rosenaustadion following the merging of BC Augsburg and TSV Schwaben.

The jersey is characterised by long red and green stripes in the style of FC Augsburg’s first ever jersey, combining club tradition with a modern outfit. The rear side of the jersey is red, with name, number, main sponsor WWK’s logo and sleeve sponsor Bernd Siegmund GmbH’s logo will all be in white. This unites the three club colours on a modern jersey, inspired by tradition. Green shorts and red socks complete the FCA look for 2021/22 home games.

"We are delighted to be bridging modern day FCA with the club’s tradition through our new home jersey. Bringing our first ever kit after the merger in 1969 back to life makes this a very special jersey for us," said CEO Michael Ströll.

FCA are also remaining true to tradition with the price of the kit. As was the case last year, there will be no price inflation for the new jersey, which will cost €74.95 (€54.95 for kids) and is available in the online shop and at the FCA 1907 store on Bahnhofstraße now. For the first time, the FCA shirt is also available as a women’s jersey.

FCA will debut their new jersey on Wednesday (7 July) in a friendly against Hamburger SV.
