First Team 09.08.2019, 15:25
FC Augsburg have extended Andreas Luthe's contract by two years, before the season gets underway against SC Verl in the DFB-Pokal on Saturday, 10th August (15:30 CEST). The goalkeeper’s contract now runs until 30th June 2022. Luthe has been with the club since 2016. “By extending his contract, Andreas Luthe is making it clear how deep his connection to FC Augsburg is. We are pleased that he wants to continue forging a path forward with the club, as he is an important presence within our team,” said Stefan Reuter, Augsburg’s sporting director. “I’ve always said how I feel at home both in the region and with FCA. Getting to play in the Bundesliga with the club is something special,” said Andreas Luthe. “It’s normal that there’s some competition amongst the goalkeepers. That’s how it’s been in the past and at my previous club as well. FCA made a real effort to keep me here. I’m 100 per cent pleased with what the club has to offer, and am looking forward to wearing the FCA jersey for the next few years.”
