Luthe: Our aim is to win!

First Team 03.11.2018, 00:07
Andreas Luthe will be between the sticks when FC Augsburg host 1. FC Nürnberg on Saturday, 3rd November 2018 (15:30 CET). The 31 year old goalkeeper is looking forward to the match and wants to secure a home win with his teammates. After a narrow 2-1 away league win against Hannover 96 last weekend and a 3-2 extra time victory over Mainz in the DFB-Pokal second round, Andreas Luthe spoke about how pleased he was with the performances from his teammates in what has been a busy week for the club. “We have fought hard. As a goalkeeper, it is always important to be there at the key moments, especially when you don’t have a lot to do for the rest of the match.” Luthe is now fully focused on FCA’s next opponents: “You have to work hard each week to succeed in the Bundesliga. Our aim is to win tomorrow. We are giving everything we have to secure a victory.” FCA head coach Manuel Baum believes Nürnberg will provide tough opposition on Saturday afternoon: “Nürnberg are confident in possession, defensively strong and can counter attack at pace. This makes them difficult to judge. However, we want to secure all three points and end our busy week with three wins.” Baum also is fired up as his side target another positive result. “We are the second best side in Bavaria. We are never satisfied with this and always want to achieve more!” Andreas Luthe understands the significance of Saturday’s against a fellow Bavarian club. However, he also considers FCA’s overall achievements so far this season: “At the end of a match, we can deduce certain things. However, our overall performances so far this season show that we cannot dwell on individual results.”
