FCA players celebrate wins on international duty

FCA players Marco Richter, Kevin Donso, Dong-Won Ji and Sergio Córdova were all in action for their respective home nations on Friday evening. Whilst Córdova suffered defeat, the rest of Augsburg’s internationals came away with wins. Germany U21s 3-0 Mexico U21s Marco Richter made his debut for the Germany U21s in Friday evening’s 3-0 friendly win against Mexico. The 20-year-old was in the starting XI before being subbed off at half time. The goals came through Janni Serra after 23 minutes, Aaron Seydal after 50 and Cedric Teuchert after 55. On Tuesday 11th September, the U21s will play against Ireland in qualification for the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Italy and San Marino. The German side lead Group 5 of the qualification stage with 16 points from seven games. Austria U21s 2-1 Armenia U21s Kevin Danso was also in action for his nation’s U21 side. He featured when his home nation of Austria overcame Armenia 2-1 in qualification for the U21 Euros. Austria were ahead after just three minutes when Marko Kvasina scored from the penalty spot. Armenia’s Vahan Bichakhchyan equalised after 61 minutes. The winner came through Maximilian Ullmann on the 70-minute mark. Kevin Danso played the full 90 minutes. After seven games Austria sit in third spot in their group, one point below the second spot that would ensure qualification. On Tuesday 11th September, Austria play their final qualification match against Gibraltar. South Korea 2-0 Costa Rica South Korea welcomed Costa Rica to the Goyang Stadium for a friendly fixture. The hosts took the lead after 35 minutes thanks to Jae-Sung Lee. After half time, the Koreans doubled their advantage when Tae-Hee Nam found the back of the net on the 78-minute mark. FCA player Dong-Won Ji started the game and was subbed off after 67 minutes. The Taegeuk Warriors  have another friendly on the 11th September against Chile. Venezuela 1-2 Colombia FCA player Sergio Córdova suffered a 2-1 defeat with his home nation of Venezuela against Columbia. The hosts took the lead after four minutes through Darwin Machis, however on the 55-minute mark Radamel Falcao levelled things up for the guests. The winning goal for Colombia came in the last minute. Córdova started the game and was subbed off after 59 minutes. Venezuela next friendly is on Tuesday 11th September against Panama.
